Vulcans
Welcome to Vulcans Class
Vulcans class is a family of hard-working, determined and eager to learn Year 2 children. We always try our best in everything that we do and also have lots of fun along the way! We are taught by Mrs Smith on a Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Porter on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We also have the fab Mr Walker to help us in some mornings and every afternoons. Read on to find out about what we are getting up to this term and keep your eyes peeled on our social media for regular updates!
For any questions, please send an email to Vulcans@sturton-by-stow.lincs.sch.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Our PE days are Thursday and Friday. On these days, please send your children to school in their (weather appropriate) PE kit for the whole day.

Term 6
This term, our focus in geography will be looking at the jobs in Sturton-by-Stow and what fuels the local economy. We will investigate businesses nearby to find out how they enrich the local community. In PSHE we will be working on relationships and conflict resolution. Our science this term will be understanding plants and what they need to live and grow. Our computing topic will be coding and building programs, giving the children a chance to design and build their own code and algorithms. We are looking forward to an exciting final term.

English
During our English lessons, we are going to be delving into our story, 'Walking With My Iguana' by Brian Moses and Ed Boxall. We will be using this to inspire us to write our own poems to perform. Our poems will be about animals and we will be working hard to include rhyme, repetition and rhythm.

Maths
This term in Maths, we will re capping areas of our maths such as calculation, fractions and time.
