Red Arrows Class - Year 1
Welcome to Red Arrows! We are a fantastic group of Year 1 children. We are taught by Mrs Ward on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Smith on Thursdays and Fridays. Mrs Troop is our brilliant teaching assistant! Keep checking back for updates of learning we are doing.
Spring Term 1
This term our PE sessions are on a Tuesday and Friday so please come to school dressed in your PE kit.
New reading books and phonics homework will be sent out on a Friday.

Knowledge Overview:
English
This term we will be reading 'The Storm Whale' trilogy by Benji Davies to inspire narrative writing. We will practise rehearsing sentences orally prior to writing, using capital letters and full stops and applying our phonics knowledge to spell words.
Maths
We will begin the term by deepening our understanding of place value to 20 using concrete apparatus, pictorial representations and then more abstract concepts. We will move onto addition and subtraction with 20. We will read, write and interpret number sentences.
History
We will be learning about 'The Great Fire of London' this term! We will learn about how London has changed, learn about significant people such as Samuel Pepys and we will understand how people have gathered information about the fire using different sources.
